groom duties - organizing the best man and groomsmen [Page 1 of 3]

The groom is likely going to be "voluntold" by his bride to get the groomsmen organized for wedding day. Didn't know that's something for the groom to do? We hear you, but somebody's gotta do it. And "it" is everything from getting the grooms fitted for tuxedos, helping them figure out travel arrangements to making sure they understand how and when they'll give a wedding toast. Here are some suggestions from GroomGroove.com for the groom.

Groom's Duty #1 - Tell the best man and groomsmen what is expected of them

Whether the groomsmen and best man are your across the street or hall neighbors or they live all across the land, they're going to need to understand what is required of them, and when. Read this article, and then summarize in an email what you're going to need your groomsmen to do. This way, there will be no doubt in their minds as things inevitably get a bit more hectic leading up to wedding day. Do it long in advance - at least 4 months before the wedding.

A word about your best man (the wingman)

Assuming you've chosen a responsible best man, he'll be a sidekick for you. As he'll be your wingman, he can help run around town the day before the wedding finding a pair of black dress shoes that one of your groomsmen forgot to bring. The key for grooms is just to ask the best to have your back. Yes, the guys at GroomGroove.com know it's a pain to have to take care of these things, but as a groom, you're going to be way too busy on the day before the wedding to take care of these eventualities. That's where the best man comes in.
