1. Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Wine Regions

There's a cheesy element to shuffling off to Buffalo for a honeymoon, but Niagara Falls, Ontario still retains its title as honeymoon capital of the world. It also happens to be located in Canada's premier wine region, the Niagara peninsula, home to Icewine, God's gift to the wine world and the George Bernard Shaw Festival. Affordable, with some great restaurants, skip the cheese in favor of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Lake Ontario.

2. Acapulco

Mel Gibson might've only had one motive for filming his latest non-English language blockbuster in Mexico, home of the Aztecs, but we're sure he also enjoyed his stay between takes as well. (And maybe a bit too much tequila...) Acapulco is rich with ancient history and teeming with scenic beauty, nightlife, water sports, and fine dining, all within financial reach.

3. Le Road Trip

Rent an R.V. in Chicago, and drive that puppy to Los Angeles along Route 66. This famous trail leading workers from the Midwest to the more prosperous west during the 1930s was immortalized in John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. It originally ran from Chicago, Illinois through Misouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. An inexpensive way to see the United States, Route 66 provides a great and off-the-beaten track honeymoon.

4. Miami

Fun in the Sun - while Miami is better known as a singles party town, it has plenty to offer a hard partying couple in search of an affordable beach vacation, excellent shopping, hot nightlife and great restaurants. Spending as much for a resort stay somewhere else gets you a five star boutique hotel with a spa in Miami. Your new wife is bound to be pleased with the choice.

5. Puerto Rico

Easily one of the most affordable Caribbean getaways. As San Juan, Puerto Rico is an American Airlines hub, tickets can be had on the cheap. The weather is always great, the vibe is electric, the beaches are clean, and there's plenty caliente things to see and do. Why not learn some salsa dancing when you're there? Puerto Rico is closer and cheaper than you think.
